Undramatic General Assembly

Good atmosphere, but few attendees at this year's general assembly.

It is said that a lack of large turnouts at general assemblies can be a sign of a healthy organisation.

If that theory holds true, then things are going quite well for the F.C. Copenhagen Fan Club, as Thursday’s general assembly was a quiet affair, with just 21 attendees in the fan club’s premises.

A Busy but Good Year

Fortunately, things are going well in more than just theory. 2024 was a year of rapid development in and around FCKFC, particularly with the introduction of F.C. Copenhagen’s women's team.

- We have increased our presence on match days, both through our booths and through atmosphere-boosting initiatives like tifos. Our away trips are sold out, and we have many exciting projects underway with both 'De Unge Løver' and our U18 group. We have also made our voice heard in fan politics—towards authorities, the club, and politicians, summarised chairman Casper Hindkjær in the annual report.

Growing Engagement

FCKFC can also look back on a year where volunteer engagement has been on the rise again.

This progress has allowed the fan club to establish permanent sales booths at C14, the Family Stand, and the upper C section, as well as a booth for the women's team at Vanløse Stadium.

- We’ve said it before, but it can’t be said too many times: our fantastic volunteers are the heart of our organisation. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to realise as many dreams, projects, and initiatives as we do, the chairman emphasized.

The Other Side of the Coin

However, the year was not without its challenges in the football fan community, something the chairman did not shy away from addressing:

- Unfortunately, 2024 will be remembered as a year when disturbances, especially at derby matches, made headlines again. Naturally, this has led to increased political attention, meaning that we, as football fans, must once again adapt to new measures in the fight against hooliganism.

Navigating fan-political issues can be challenging, but chairman Casper Hindkjær stressed that they were not facing these challenges alone. He highlighted the strong collaboration with Brøndby Support and the umbrella organisation "Danske FodboldFans."

- It has been invaluable to stand together as fans and show that we both can and will cooperate across club rivalries to combat trouble and demonstrate that we take the issue at least as seriously as the clubs and authorities do, he said.

Board Elections

As previously hinted, the evening did not feature any contested elections or major fan-political disputes.

All candidates running for re-election were voted in, and the board also welcomed a new member, Lily Bekker, who will be responsible for women's football, taking over from Sara Gangsted, who stepped down earlier in the year.
